Couples:
Dealing with Differences
Any
two people including those who form a couple or some other pairing,
will naturally see, understand, and act upon things differently.
Differences therefore are the norm, not the exception. Conflict
typically happens when couples get stuck on their differences. This
workshop will provide teaching material and experiential activities
to teach couples to deal effectively with differences. This workshop
is intended to help couples recognize when they are stuck and develop
methods of dealing with differences. It is not a substitute for
couple therapy. Enrollment is limited to 6 couples/pair. |

Rekindling
the Spirit at work
“Rekindling the Spirit in Work” is about reconnecting
with yourself and the work you do. Through creative excercises and
sharing with the group, you can gain clarity about your goals in
work, skills required to reach those goals, and a deep awareness
of your strengths. The process can help you confront and dissolve
major blocks to rewarding work and to integrate who you are with
what you do. The process is far more effective than narrowly focused
vocational perspectives. The emphasis is on “Who is working”
From an identification with our highest self , what we can flow
more easily and be a direct expression in the world of who we are
inside.
This workshop is for people who are beginning new careers, in transition,
dissatisfied, or simply bored with their work. Participants often
come away with a sense of clarity and purpose. The subtle inner
adjustments of identity, attitude, and perspective create greater
job satisfaction and offer direction for taking the next steps in
work. |

“NonViolence
is only a Breath Away"
According to Jainism life is all whole and complete yet is ever
changing. There is no beginning or end, only a constant cycling
and recycling of substances and experiences. Life is full of new
and fresh moments and never static, giving us the power to create
our own circumstances. With right knowledge, right faith and right
conduct we know that we have choice in every action and that every
moment is a new beginning point which is in the here and now. Jainism's
paramount emphasis has been on inner peace, self discipline and
non-violent ways of life in action, speech and thought. According
to Jain teachings, violence and suffering are the result of disconnectedness
from the knowledge of who we are. Indeed there is scientific evidence
that disconnectedness in life impairs both the mind and body.
Inherent in human nature lies a core of wisdom, an inner knowing.
With meditation and communication skills we can use our innate spiritual
resources to move into clarity and freedom and develop self knowledge,
we can bring more awareness and sensitivity to our daily process,
restoring the natural balance of body, mind, and spirit, and realizing
the aliveness that is our birth right. The purpose of this workshop
is to develop the skills to maintain and strenghten peace within
and without. |
